The Marion County Literacy Council (MCLC) is hosting a fundraiser to help provide free tutoring to illiterate adults in Marion County. The Council is hosting it's 4th Annual Adult Spelling BEE on February 15, 2008.

The MCLC is a group of volunteer tutors who teach adults to read, speak English, and pass the GED examination. U.S. Census statistics reflect that about 100,000 Marion County adult residents could use the services of the Council.

We are adding an average of eight new students to our roster each month. To support the need for and growth of the MCLC, we need resources. These resources will positively impact our community by raising education levels and increasing our students skills.

We hope you will join the Marion County Literacy Council in its efforts to address the literacy problems of Marion County by sponsoring this event.
